The weekend has arrived!

Been a while since I last did this. It's Friday, so what's everyone up to?

Myself, I'll be hammering the beats on the PSP and playing Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria on the PS2.

Ah, VP2. The game looks superb and the mix of platforming and RPG elements is great fun. Basically, you control Alicia in a 2D/3D world and you have to shoot crystals, called photons which can freeze your enemies into a crystal. If you shoot a photon at the crystal, you can switch places, gaining access to places you haven't been before!

I'm only 3 hours in (I've just started coming in off the back of Shadow Hearts: From the new World) but so far, this game deserves the reviews it has been getting!

This weekend

Friday (about time too) means the weekend is just around the corner.

It's a tricky situation this time though. I have some stuff to get on with and Saturday's are pretty busy. However, I should have some time for gaming. I have 2 to pick from though. There's Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth to continue, or there's Final Fantasy 12.

I hate these kinds of decisions. VP:L is a refreshing change from normal RPG's while Final Fantasy 12 is epic, huge and not one to be missed by FF fans (like me :-) ).

Or I could restart Puzzle Quest and help to make a new FAQ...

This weekend

It's Friday so it's time to think about what you'll be playing this weekend.

I received Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth a couple of days ago for the PSP and an astonishingly good looking opening CG sequence shows me what I can look forward too. Well, sort of. I know it's mostly just a PS1 port but the added cut-scenes will be a delight to watch. As I know it though, this game is very hard so studying the game manual is going to be the priority.

I have PoPoLoCrois to finish and as far as I know, I'll be coming to the end of the game soon so this is my main priority this weekend. I'll be happy to play it while listening to other countries attempting to sing for the Eurovision Song Contest title. I think the music in PoPoLoCrois is much better :-).

Oh, and it's my birthday tomorrow! Doubt I'll be getting new games tomorrow but you never know!

Update: Also, don't forget that Square-Enix are holding a big party this weekend where they will be showing off their latest games.

Gaming this weekend

Every Friday, we'll have this feature to allow you and others to discuss what you'll be playing over the weekend, or just to informally chat about games not covered here.

This weekend, I'll be looking to play Puzzle Quest and continue Final Fantasy 12. However, I still have a few hurdles to clear as my cousin's computer needs sorting out and it's going to be painful. Thank goodness it's a bank holiday weekend!
